NEPEAN Power specialises in the design, manufacture and delivery of electrical infrastructure solutions for the mining, utilities and industrial sectors, including switchrooms, substations and power distribution solutions supporting major projects across Australia.

Our Opportunity
NEPEAN Power is seeking multiple Carpenters to join our workshop team based in Mackay. These roles are offered on a fixed term contract basis for an initial period of 3-6 months, with opportunities to extend for the right candidates.

Your Role
You will contribute to a wide range of electrical infrastructure and modular construction projects, often involving high quality switchrooms and transportable buildings. Projects support mining, utilities, renewable energy and industrial operations across Australia.

Your regular duties will include:
• Installing CFC flooring
• Installing steel frames and trusses
• Installing Fyrecheck and ballistic sheeting
• Wall and roof construction
• Installing external and internal cladding and flashings
• Installing custom doors
• Collaborating with electricians and boilermakers as required
• Performing quality checks on completed work
• Maintaining housekeeping and cleanliness of your work area in line with 5S standards

The Right Person
You will bring the following skills and experience:
• Trade qualification in Carpentry or equivalent experience as a Construction Trade Assistant
• Experience in residential, commercial or modular construction
• Ability to interpret drawings and work from sketches
• Competency using workshop machinery and power tools
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail
• Personal hand tools
• Current Driver Licence

The following tickets are advantageous but not essential:
• Forklift
• Boom lift
• Scissor lift
• Dogman
• Confined space
