Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will play a critical part in the successful execution of residential and commercial building projects by accurately constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and frameworks. With a strong foundation in carpentry techniques and safety protocols, you will contribute to the structural integrity, precision, and aesthetic quality of the built environment. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with 1–3 years of hands-on experience who thrives in fast-paced, on-site environments and is committed to delivering high-quality workmanship. Your expertise will directly impact project timelines, compliance with building codes, and overall project success.
Responsibilities:
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan and execute carpentry work.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials to construct frameworks, walls, floors, roofs, and fixtures.
  • Install doors, windows, staircases, cabinetry, and other structural components with precision and adherence to design standards.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including circular saws, drills, nail guns, and levelers.
  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless workflow and timely project completion.
  • Conduct routine inspections of work for accuracy, structural soundness, and compliance with safety and building regulations.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in optimal working condition and report any damage or malfunction.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) standards at all times.
  • Assist in material estimation, ordering, and inventory management to support project efficiency.

Requirements

Requirements:
  • Year 12 diploma or equivalent; formal carpentry qualification or apprenticeship is highly desirable.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial construction environments.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools, including circular saws, power drills, and nail guns.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and OHS compliance in construction settings.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in varying weather and elevated or confined spaces.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites and willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and any required trade licenses or certifications (e.g., White Card, Working at Heights).
Work Environment:
On-site construction locations across ${region}, with regular exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, dust, and physical labor.
Compensation:
AU$5,000 – AU$7,000 per month, commensurate with experience and demonstrated skill level.

  • Competitive Base Salary: AU$85,000 base salary per year (commensurate with experience) with additional overtime allowances where applicable.
