Sodexo, Australia's largest provider of services to the energy and resource sector, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Carpenters to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for a variety of carpentry tasks, including the repair and refurbishment of accommodation rooms, equipment, and other areas across domestic maintenance, town/village/non-process infrastructure facilities. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, hands-on role within a multi-disciplinary environment, where you will directly contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of varying remote site facilities.
As a Carpenter, you will ensure that all jobs are carried out in a safe, timely, and efficient manner, with work orders and requests entered the maintenance tracking system. You will be involved in the construction, installation, renovation, and repair of structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials.
These positions are on 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO from Perth roster.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.
- Materials Management: Order and select timbers, relevant materials, and prepare layouts. Cut materials, and assemble and nail cut and shaped parts to form structures.
- Work Execution:
- Erect frameworks, roof framing, lay sub-flooring and floorboards, and verify the accuracy of structures.
- Install fascia panels, sheathing roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding, as well as door and window frames.
- Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation.
- Cut wood joints and assemble frameworks for concrete formwork.
- Repair and replace existing fittings as required.
- Replace and install doors, locksets, wall linings, and flooring, including metal roofing, flashings, and cappings.
- Conduct plasterboard ceiling replacements and repairs, including flushing.
- Perform carpentry replacements such as cupboards and drawers, and construct framing/partition walls.
- Work Permits & Safety: Execute work under approved permits, ensuring barriers, signage and other safety measures are taken to protect yourself and residents/ employees.
