Overview

Engineering People is seeking a skilled and motivated C10 Maintenance Fitter for a casual position at our Altona location. This is a great opportunity to kickstart your career and work your way up to a full-time role. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced fitter to learn and grow within the business.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with a highly experienced fitter to learn every aspect of the role and the business
• Utilize trade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter C10 classification
• Apply previous experience within food manufacturing
• Demonstrate experience in TIG/MIG and fabrication
• Utilize tube welding skills and boilers knowledge
• Perform electrical connect/disconnect tasks
• Approach problem-solving with a rational and analytical mindset
• Contribute to the team with a proactive approach and strong work ethic

Qualifications

• Trade Qualification as a Mechanical Fitter C10 classification
• Previous experience within food manufacturing
• Experience in TIG/MIG and fabrication
• Tube welding skills and boilers knowledge
• Electrical connect/disconnect experience
• Rational thinker with an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
• Proactive approach, strong work ethic, ability to meet challenges, and contribute to the team

Day-to-Day

The successful candidate will work day shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm, with opportunities for overtime. Every Friday, early knocks off at 12:00pm, and weekends take turns on a fortnightly basis. Travel allowance is provided, and long-term growth opportunities within the business are available.
