The Opportunity

Starting an Apprenticeship with Austal, will provide you a genuine opportunity to develop your career, while working alongside experienced, dedicated and passionate industry professionals in a safe, collaborative and outcome focused environment, as well as commencing work in a global industry.

The trade offered is a Certificate III Engineering - Fabrication Trade and involves marking off, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining metal components for large-scale defence and commercial vessels. This trade is a 48-month (4 year) apprenticeship and is an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to start their Fabrication career!

 

 You’ll need

  • Year 10 or higher in English, Maths, Metalwork and/or Woodwork
  • Previous work experience in a similar role
  • Ability to maintain a clean, tidy, productive work environment
  • Hold full and current Australian working rights
  • Completion of a pre apprenticeship would be highly desirable
  • White card is essential
