The Randalls Mill is a 1.3Mtpa processing facility based at Mount Monger Operations, 80km South-East of Kalgoorlie. With a 3-stage crushing circuit, dual Ball mills, gravity separation and CIL circuit, it is maintained at a near 98% milling availability.

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Boilermaker to join the close-knit Maintenance team at the Randalls processing Facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and supporting the Mechanical Fitters & Maintenance Electricians, you will have responsibility for carrying out preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance to mechanical equipment in the processing plant, borefields and site infrastructure, along with onsite fabrication of chutes, structural components and small projects. Your safety-focus and collaborative approach will ensure that plant equipment is maintained at a high level of availability at all times, while contributing to a cohesive work environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and working within site safety structures;
  • Preparation of JHA’s and Take 5’s prior to commencing tasks;
  • Participating in scheduled reviews of current SOP’s;
  • Regular maintenance on crushing circuit which includes Jaw crusher, secondary & tertiary cone crushers, as well as screens and conveyors;
  • Regular maintenance on the crushing and milling circuit equipment;
  • Chute inspection PMs;
  • Provide suggestions for problem solving of high wear areas found in chutes;
  • Fabrication of general plant components to a high level of skill;
  • Ability to read and understand drawings;
  • Understanding of relevant Australian Standards;
  • Crane Driving and Rigging operations;
  • Conducting regular scheduled PM tasks and completing detailed fault descriptions for corrective maintenance tasks to be developed.

ABOUT YOU:

As an experienced Fixed-Plant Boilermaker you will bring a level head and calm approach when problem solving. You are personable, inclusive and can develop excellent working relationships with your team, other departments, and contractors. You will be able to anticipate needs and react quickly to ensure all plant equipment is functional, as well as manage multiple demands on your time in a calm and considered manner.

Preferred experience:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (Boilermaker)
  • 3+ years post apprenticeship mine site experience would be desirable
  • Experience in using Pronto maintenance systems and recording and reporting history on plant and equipment would be preferred
  • Boilermaking experience in a mineral processing plant, including extensive hands-on experience with fabrication from drawings, MIG, TIG and ARC welding repairs, manufacturing of wear plates, maintenance on jaw and cone crusher circuits and equipment
  • Good working knowledge of general fitting activities in a gold processing plant
  • A proven commitment to safety
  • CN Franna crane ticket would be desirable
  • Confined space, Work at heights, EWP, Forklift & Dogging tickets are desirable
  • Hold a current C Class driver’s license and Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Working knowledge of the WHS legislation

You will have the opportunity to be part of a fantastic team, working an 8:6 roster DIDO residential in Kalgoorlie. DIDO travel each day to and from your address in Kalgoorlie.

This is a newly created position to allow us to have two Boilermakers per swing to assist one another with fabrication and installation tasks throughout the plant.
