Join Our Team as a Fabrication Tradesperson – Ballarat Facility

Are you looking for a rewarding role in a supportive and inclusive team? At UGL’s Manufacturing & Maintenance business, we value collaboration, innovation, and safety. We’re seeking passionate Fabrication Tradespeople to join our Rail Components Overhaul team in Ballarat, Victoria.

This permanent role, covered by UGL’s Ballarat Enterprise Agreement, offers family-friendly hours (Monday – Friday, 7\:30 am – 4\:00 pm) with 12 RDOs annually. We’re also happy to discuss flexible arrangements for the right candidate.

 

About the role

Reporting into the Production Supervisors this role will see you work in a dynamic fabrication and repair environment, contributing to:

  • Bogie repair
  • Component fabrication
  • General fabrication duties

You'll carry out general-purpose and structural welds using MIG and Stick, ensuring quality and safety every step of the way.

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • An Australian-recognized trade certificate with a Certificate of Proficiency in Metal/Welding Trades
  • Skills in interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience with overhead or jib cranes.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit
  • A genuine focus on safety and attention to detail
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset
