Salary Range: AUD $595.20 - $1339.80 (20 yrs + under) AUD$1226.40 - $1339.80 (over 21 yrs) per 38-hour week, 9 day fortnight, 14% super, personal leave, 17.5% leave loading, plus additional tool allowances and uniform and all PPE provided. (Remuneration stated is for the full-time positions) 

Work type: Temporary Full-time x 22 positions (Adult and Junior – age at commencement) 

Commencing: 2 February 2026 - up to 4 years with potential to be placed permanently 

Locations: Bus Garages at Willawong, Sherwood, Garden City, Eagle Farm, Toowong, Virginia, Rochedale, Carina and Toowong Workshops.

Automotive Apprenticeships - Curious and motivated to learn? 

We will provide the training, support and mentoring you need to get involved in a range of tasks. Block release or in the workplace training, tailored to each candidate. Skills, and experience to develop a long-term career in the industry, by gaining a nationally recognised qualification. 

Apprentice Coach/Body Builders at Toowong Workshops and Virginia and Eagle Farm Bus Garage (bus, truck and trailer, auto manufacturing)  

Learn to safely and effectively replace and repair bus body panels and fittings. Panel beat or repair different body components for buses, using a variety of techniques. Weld and refurbish, using your creative skills to ensure fit for purpose repairs on buses including:  

  • create or repair framework sections in steel and aluminium (Mig and Tig welding)   
  • design and build chassis alterations, repair and remake fibreglass components  
  • plan and fit mechanised equipment  
  • cut and replace wooden flooring and alter assembly line vehicles 
  • turn out sheet metal components using onsite guillotine and sheet metal folder. 

Apprentice Sign Writer (signs and graphics) at Toowong Workshops 

Bring your creative side to design, manufacture and install signs for displays, buildings and structures and parks. Learn to carry out measurements and calculations, prepare surfaces and produce vinyl, digital screen-print and other signage. practical skills and confidence to manufacture and install signs in metal or plastic using a variety of techniques: 

  • produce and install signs and bus wraps 
  • print with a wide range of materials to fabricate signage
  • use and maintain a range of tools, equipment and design software
  • additional training and skills to support your future career. 

Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Mechanics at all bus garage and workshop locations 

Learn how to find problems, repair and service a range of systems and components of buses and equipment. Tune, maintain and test mechanical components, including engines, transmissions and suspension systems on a variety of buses, including Volvo, Scania and MAN:  

  • inspecting and carrying out servicing operations
  • diagnosing and fixing problems for bus operators
  • repair and maintain mechanical parts for buses (engines, transmission, suspension systems) 
  • fault finding on fuel systems, engine condition, braking efficiency and wheel balance and alignment.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend a small group assessment or interview on 27 or 28 October. If progressed from interview, you will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and functional assessment to assess your ability to perform the genuine occupational requirements of the role, an appointment in November.
