Are you a skilled Fitter/Turner or Boilermaker looking for a role packed with variety, challenge, and purpose?

• Location: Various Fixed Sites in Laverton, Epping & Dandenong

• Schedule: Monday to Friday 38-hour week with flexible start times + Overtime & Weekends available.

• Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
   

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Diagnose faults and inspect fixed and mobile plant equipment (Asphalt fixed plant, conveyors, pugmills, loaders)

• Perform general fitting and turning tasks, including machining, part replacement, and fabrication

• Carry out welding repairs (MIG, Stick, Arc) and general metalwork (cutting, grinding, drilling)

• Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant systems

• Assist with rebuilds, shutdowns, and parts ordering

• Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate service records

• Collaborate with site supervisors and operators to reduce downtime

You’re a Great Fit If You:

• Are a qualified Fitter/Turner or Boilermaker (Cert III Mechanical Engineering or equivalent)

• Have welding and fabrication experience (MIG/Stick/Arc)

• Ideally have experience with fixed plant equipment

• Hold a valid White Card (or are willing to obtain one)

• Have a Forklift or Dogman ticket (highly regarded, not essential)

• Are safety-conscious, efficient, and team-oriented

• Enjoy variety—one day it’s a loader bucket, the next a cone crusher!

All successful applicants must complete a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. Random testing is conducted across all Alex Fraser sites.
