Job Description

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is keen to commence their career in a trade. Those who have already commenced their apprenticeship and are keen to further develop their skill levels across a diverse industry, are also encouraged to apply.  The position will be based in Wee Waa, New South Wales, but may also involve work across our sites throughout New South Wales and Queensland, which on occasions will require travelling away from Wee Waa for extended periods.  A driver’s licence whilst not essential would be highly regarded.

Working with a qualified Engineering Fabrication tradesperson, this role will provide the applicant with on the job and TAFE training leading to a Certificate lll in Engineering.

Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

  • Perform work at a standard required to successfully complete tasks at the appropriate competency level required.
  • Undertake and obtain the appropriate skills and knowledge to create and complete Work orders supporting and R&M system.
  • Work to allocated timeframes.
  • Work with continuous improvement process
  • Work in a manner where the safety of yourself and other’s is of the highest priority.
  • All work to comply to Australian Standards
  • Give project support to teams
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Qualifications

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Willingness to commit to developing skills, knowledge, and experience through workplace and TAFE exposure.
  • Literacy and Numeracy competency to undertake required training and development activities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively in the workplace and training environment.
  • Demonstrate a genuine interest in gaining your trade qualification.
  • Be a reliable, honest, and committed individual.

Industry specific and on-the-job training is provided which will result in formal qualifications along with the opportunity to further develop your skills after the apprenticeship has been completed.
