Kickstart or continue your career as an Apprentice Signalling Electrician based at our Rockhampton depot with Queensland Rail, supporting our Central Systems team.

 

In this hands-on role, you will work under the supervision of qualified Signal Electricians to learn the installation, maintenance and repair of complex railway signalling systems that keep our network operating safely and reliably. This role includes travel across Rockhampton and the Central West as part of our commitment to servicing regional areas.

 

Whether you are just beginning your apprenticeship or already partway through, you will be contributing to Queensland Rail’s proud legacy while developing your skills and supporting the delivery of a more sustainable future. Our Apprentice Opportunity 

In this apprenticeship you will

 

  • Work under supervision of a qualified signal electrician to learn the installation, maintenance and repair of railway signalling systems.
  • Learn from experienced professionals to gain theoretical and practical knowledge
  • Install, repair, inspect and test signalling equipment. 
  • Experience diverse work environments
  • Collaborate with other teams across Queensland Rail.
  • Undertake all the relevant training required to ensure you will be trade ready at the completion of your apprenticeship.

 

 

As an Apprentice you will need to:

  • Be a team player
  • Have an adaptable growth mindset willing to embrace the opportunity in front of you
  • Be willing to travel across the state and work away from home
  • Have the ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions with a commitment to safety.
  • Be available for regular travel as a key part of the role
