The Role
Our Tatura site is an icon in the region, well known around the world for its quality dairy products. As well as being the country’s largest producer of cream cheese, it also produces infant formula, nutritional lactoferrin, various milk powders, plus our famous single serve butter.
Our maintenance team at Tatura is looking for its next Apprentice Fitter to join the team! Join an experienced and highly capable team, learning new skills that will build towards a career as a qualified Fitter. This role works 6am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
Work with our team and attend to mechanical breakdowns, maintain and repair plant equipment and participate in all relevant meetings.
Participate in apprentice development reviews. Attend trade school, complete all assigned work, obtain a satisfactory pass in all assessments and successfully complete any other training provided.
Working with a team on routine maintenance programs, emergency repairs, upgrades and installation of new machines and equipment.
Become proficient in the operation of plant and workshop equipment.

Commitment to making safety a priority and leading a safety-first culture within the reliability teams and across the site
Highly motivated with a willingness and commitment to learning
Basic computer skills, excellent communication and the ability to liaise with team members and management effectively
Punctual, reliable and a team player with a positive and can-do attitude
Willingness to learn and take on any tasks when asked
