About the role

Join a supportive and collaborative team at the City of Coffs Harbour and embark on a rewarding career as a Fitter by completing a four (4) year apprenticeship in Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical with our Mechanical and Electrical Services team with the City of Coffs Harbour (the City)'s water and wastewater operations as the principal responsibility.

Gain hands-on experience and foundational knowledge about installation, upgrading, and maintaining plant and equipment. Be guided and supported on how to safely and competently carry out maintenance and repairs under the supervision of the City's tradespeople.

About you?

We're looking for someone who demonstrates a high level of written and verbal numeracy and literacy skills, is willing to undertake TAFE study outside of normal work hours, has a strong mechanical aptitude, and enjoys working as part of a team.

Essential requirements for this position include a NSW Record of School Achievement (RoSA) or equivalent and a National Construction Industry Induction (White Card).

What's on offer?

  • $803.30 per week + 11.5 % Superannuation (for candidates 18 years or over)
  • Allowances as applicable
  • Temporary four (4) year position - 38 hours per week.
  • Flexible start date.
  • Scope for performance-based salary increases in line with the completion of studies.
  • Support throughout your studies and reimbursements for learning materials and textbooks.
  • Ongoing training and development throughout your qualification.
