The Role
BGIS is offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated Apprentice Electrical Technician to join our Self Perform team.
This role is suited to an apprentice who already has solid foundational electrical knowledge and is looking to build advanced hands-on experience across planned and reactive maintenance in a facilities environment. You will work alongside experienced technicians delivering safe, reliable, and compliant electrical services across a diverse client portfolio while progressing toward completion of your trade qualification.
From day one, you’ll be supported through a structured apprenticeship program designed to further develop your technical capability, fault-finding skills, and long-term career with BGIS.

What You’ll Be Doing

Assist and progressively take ownership of installation, servicing, and maintenance of electrical systems

Support and perform inspections and testing of RCDs, emergency lighting, and switchboards

Assist with and develop competency in electrical fault finding and repairs

Use electrical test equipment and BGIS digital service tools

Prepare work records, timesheets, and basic maintenance reports

Participate in general facility maintenance tasks as required

Build positive working relationships with clients and stakeholders

Collaborate with BGIS teams, subcontractors, and suppliers

Actively complete all remaining apprenticeship training requirements

Follow all WHS and safety procedures on site
Your Education, Experience & Skills
-
Demonstrated hands-on electrical experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities environment

White Card (Construction Induction)
-
Sound electrical aptitude and fault-finding exposure

Strong ability to work with supervision while showing initiative

Good communication and teamwork skills

Safety-focused mindset

Australian working rights (essential)

Pre-apprenticeship in Electrotechnology (Desirable)
