Purpose
As an Apprentice Chef, you will work as part of a large kitchen brigade undergoing structured training gaining practical experience in a professional kitchen under the guidance of experienced chefs.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Learn proper techniques for handling and cutting various food items
Adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation guidelines to ensure the safe handling of food
Seek opportunities to expand your knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavour profiles
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen workspace, including washing dishes, equipment and utensils
Skills & Experience
Passion for cooking, currently pursuing a qualification in commercial cookery with a strong desire to pursue a culinary career
Enthusiasm to learn and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high culinary standards
Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
