ABOUT THE ROLE


The primary purpose of the Apprentice Boilermaker is to undertake repairs and maintenance in a safe & tradesperson manner such as, welding, cutting, fabrication, grinding, painting, and mechanical tasks on machinery plant and equipment, to maximise machinery availability and provide a quality service to Qube operational divisions.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Participating in ongoing training and apprenticeship programs to expand your skills and knowledge.

  • Undertaking hands-on training and development in welding and fabrication techniques

  • Assisting experienced tradesmen with the fabrication, installation, and repair of metal structures and components

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings.

  • Operating a variety of welding equipment and tools.

  • Adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.


KEY COMPETENCIES/SKILLS



  • A keen interest in the Trades & Services industry, particularly in the areas of welding and fabrication.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work environment

  • Willingness to learn and grow within the apprenticeship program
