The Gold Fields apprentice intake starts in January and offers tailored mentoring, technical development and role-specific training to help you succeed. You’ll learn from our international team of talented professionals, exchanging knowledge, building skills and gaining experience at one of our four mine sites.
Role Details:
Reporting to the Coordinator, you will be responsible for gaining and developing the required skills to successfully complete the requirements of an apprenticeship in an Auto Electrical trade. You will receive extensive on-the-job training as well as formal TAFE training to support your development throughout the journey.

This role is offered on 8 days on, 6 days off Fly in Fly out roster from Perth. This role will be required to work underground.

About the role:
Develop individual capacity to qualify as a tradesperson by undertaking all aspects of formal and informal training that is aligned to the Apprenticeship training plan outline and site requirements as directed by site training personnel.
Applying underpinning knowledge and skills gained through the apprentice training program to enhance the reliability, serviceability and availability of mining equipment, support equipment, and infrastructure relevant to your trade.
Ensures a safe work environment by ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and free of hazards.
Ensure a safe working environment by identifying and reporting all hazards and incidents.
Improve the overall effectiveness of the maintenance team by providing support and assistance as directed.
Supporting the efficient operation of the mining team by providing reliable and accurate maintenance knowledge, expertise and practical application, to minimise down time
About you:
Sound communication and computer literacy skills
Completion of Year 10 (including Mathematics)
WA Manual Drivers License
Applied First Aid certificate (desirable)
A genuine interest and a general understanding of the Auto Electrical trade
Successful completion of a Certificate II Pre-Apprenticeship in a relevant Trade (desirable)
