JOB SUMMARY:
The Apprentice is responsible for assisting Workshop Technicians with all functions within the workshop including carrying out pre-delivery of machines, service and repairs to customer and company owned Elevating Work Platforms, telehandlers and lighting towers and small construction equipment and forklifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Learning about and assisting with the evaluation of machine performance
Inspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specifications
Assisting with installing, testing, repairing and modifying electronic and hydraulic equipment
Conducting pre delivery inspections and assessing machines to ensure they are in good working order
Assisting with conducting repairs and maintenance of customer and JLG owned machines and equipment.
Assisting with any duties as required including general cleaning and tidying of the workshop
Abide by specific site instructions including Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental policies
Responsible for completing all appropriate paperwork and inspection forms required by ANZ Standards and also by customer and/or site requirements
Assist with conducting three monthly and annual inspections of machines in accordance with JLG and Australian industry standards
Sanding, painting and general trade assistant duties as required.
General ad-hoc duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The candidate must be committed to undertaking a 4 year apprenticeship which includes on the job training and block theory and practical training with a registered training organization. Qualifications will include either a cert III in Elevating Work Platforms or a Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology.
Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
Good listening skills including the ability to follow instruction
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient Language, Literacy and Numeracy including the ability to write job notes, read safety information, machine manuals and understand basic numeracy such as time, parts numbers and quantities
Mature minded and reliable
