What’s involved

  • Welding primary structures such as frames, keels, girders, and deck beams for vessels.
  • Welding secondary structures such as walkways, handrails, equipment brackets and bases.
  • Read and understand technical documents and workshop drawings.
  • Adhere to the Austal Safety and Quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and productive work environment.

 

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will be a trade qualified Fabricator/Boilermaker who has:

  • Experience in aluminium and/or steel MIG welding.
  • A positive and professional work ethic, taking pride in finished work.
  • Be physically fit and comfortable working in confined spaces, as well as at heights.
  • Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
