1st Year Apprentice Roofer

You’ll be employed and supported by Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) — the Coast’s leading employer of Apprentices and Trainees for close to 40 years.


Based mostly on Sydney worksites (with occasional jobs on the Central Coast and in Newcastle), you’ll be learning the ropes of tile roof installation on large-scale residential projects as part of a hardworking roofing crew.

• Start: ASAP
• Term: 36-month apprenticeship
• Training: Certificate III in Roof Tiling (RTO: TAFE NSW – Quakers Hill)
• Roster: Full-time (38 hours/week)
• Typical hours: 7:00am–3:06pm (Monday to Friday) with possible RDOs
• Uniform: Provided (shirt & jacket)
• Travel: Regular travel to Sydney sites required (own vehicle essential)

You’ll be part of a roofing crew and learn skills such as:

• Mixing mud and preparing materials
• Heavy tile lifting and loading elevators
• Moving tools and using a nail gun
• Standing up battens
• Working on roofs up to two storey's high
• General ground work and site clean-up

Note: This is a physical, outdoor role with heavy lifting, working at heights and travel to Sydney required.

• Keen to start a trade and learn from experienced roofers
• Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor work
• Confident working at heights of up to two storeys 
• Strong work ethic, listens well and follows direction
• Positive attitude and a solid team player

• WHS White Card
• P-Plates (minimum)
• Own vehicle (essential)
• Comfortable with heavy lifting, working at heights of up to two storeys and working in all weather

• Get paid to learn while completing a Certificate III in Roof Tiling
• On-the-job training from experienced roofing professionals
• Build real trade skills in a growing industry
• Progression opportunities after completion (e.g., Leading Hand)
• Uniform provided (shirt & jacket)
